Widget not appearing or showing blank
A blank or missing widget is almost always iOS being slow to refresh. Here is the fix ladder.
Try these in order. Most cases are fixed by the first two.
1. Open the app once
Widgets are fed by the app. If you have just installed Exam Countdown, or just added your first exam, open the app and let the list load. That is what hands the widget something to show.
2. Give it a minute, then check again
iOS decides when to refresh widgets, and it is not always prompt. A widget that looks stuck often sorts itself out within a few minutes.
3. Do you have any future exams?
The Next Exam widget shows your next exam. If every paper is in the past, there is nothing to show. Add an upcoming one and check again.
4. Is it a Premium widget?
Countdown, Live Countdown, Next 4 Exams, Category Countdown and the Lock Screen sizes need Premium. Without it they will not fill in. The Next Exam widget is the free one. Try that to confirm widgets are working at all.
5. Check the widget's own setting
Touch and hold the widget → Edit Widget. If it is set to a specific exam that you have since deleted, point it at a current one.
6. Remove it and add it again
Touch and hold → Remove Widget, then add it fresh. This clears most stuck states.
7. Restart
A restart of the device fixes the stubborn ones. It is a blunt instrument, but it works often enough to be worth it before contacting support.
