Add your first exam
Add a paper, pick a date and time, and watch it count down.
Everything in Exam Countdown starts with an exam: a subject, a date, and the time it begins. Here is the whole flow.
Add an exam
- Tap the + button at the bottom right of your exam list.
- Give it a subject: Chemistry, History, whatever is on your timetable.
- Add the paper underneath if you need it: Paper 2, Calculator, Coursework deadline, Hall A. This line is yours, so use it for whatever you will want to see at a glance.
- Set the date and time it starts. The time matters more than you think: with it set, the countdown switches from days to hours to minutes on the morning itself.
- Tap Save.
That is it. The exam appears in your list, colour-coded, sorted by how close it is.
Add the rest of the season
Once you have your timetable, it is worth doing the whole thing in one sitting rather than adding papers as they come up. The app is most useful when it can see the entire run. That is what makes the list, the widget and Calendar View tell you something you did not already know.
What next
- Give each subject its own colour and icon so the list reads at a glance. See Colours and icons.
- Put your next exam on your Home Screen. See Add a widget to your Home Screen.
- Set a reminder so nothing creeps up on you. See Alerts and reminders.
